It is nearly 7 months since the earth-quake in Haiti on January 12. Recovery is slowly taking place. The Volcy
family’s house has been delivered. We praise the Lord for all of you who
have contributed to buy this house. On behalf of the Volcy family and Vine Ministry, THANK YOU!
Nora Garber and I will be traveling to Haiti July 21 to July 29 to assess
the food distribution and house
building projects.
Now that the rains have begun in Haiti it has been discovered that Vine Church
has a leak in the roof which is no doubt a result of the earthquake. Therefore,
we have changed plans a bit and are painting the building outside and
repairing the roof at the same time. The reason for this is that we have to rent scaffolding, therefore, we will do both jobs at once in order to only rent once.
We are nearing completion of the building of the church. Obviously the earthquake has caused us some
detours and added costs. We are estimating approximately $60,000 to complete the building and purchase
the necessary equipment. We praise God for all that He has accomplished. Once again the building fund is
nearly depleted, however, we know that God will supply the need.
Last Sunday 12 people rededicated their lives to the Lord. Many are coming to Christ each Sunday. Vine
Church continues to have a day of Prayer and Fasting each Thursday from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM and each
Sunday morning they have overflowing attendance. Their Annual Conference, a celebration of the
beginning of Vine Church meeting as a congregation, will be from July 4 to July 11. Please continue to pray for the
people of Vine Church as they recover from the earthquake and for Pastor Joel as he “carries a heavy load”
pasturing the congregation.
A reminder to send in your child sponsorship forms. To date I have 54 commitments for the coming school
year. Last year we sponsored 117. If you choose to not sponsor this year please let me know this as well.
You have been very wonderful sending funds for Haiti Relief and the Volcy house. This is to remind
you that our General Fund is in need of replenishing and also the Building Fund.

Please continue to pray for Marie. She was in Orlando in the hospital after the earthquake and received a pace maker while there. It will depend on her health at the time of our travel whether or not she will accompany
us. God Bless you all. We look forward to visiting and sharing with you.
