OF ALL THE THINGS YOU WEAR, YOUR EXPRESSION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT!
(From LeRoy’s Desk)

The last newsletter was written to you from Haiti. I
returned home to Albany, Georgia on December 1. I
spent the holidays in Georgia this year. I was blessed to have our daughter, Susan, with me for several days.
So…….to bring you up to date…….my next trip to Haiti will be January 20 to February 3. I have volunteered the Vine Ministry vehicle and myself to drive for the Brethren Disaster Team that will be in Haiti from January 23 to 31. The Team will be building some houses for folks in the Gonaives area who lost their homes due to the hurricanes of last year and also visit some of the Church of the Brethren preaching points. I think this will be an quite an
adventure. It is another way for Vine Ministry to help the Haitian people and also to give back to the Church of the Brethren, which is mine, Leroy’s and our families’
heritage. In case you are not able to read between the lines, I am excited about doing this.
Of course, while I am there I will be visiting Pastor Joel and Vine Church. There is more exciting news about the building………..Because of the generosity this month of so many of you, I am able to tell Maxima to go ahead and build the benches for the balcony. This completes the bench project. I Praise the Lord for you all for your faithfulness in praying and giving. I called Pastor Joel to give him the good news. His response was, Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The next thing will be to build the pulpit area and furnishings. I do not yet have an estimate for that. We are trusting that the building will soon be totally completed so that we will be able to have the Dedication Service on the first Sunday of July, 2010.
While I was in Haiti in December, Pastor Joel and I were “looking ahead” to the time when the building is completed. We think the next step will then be to establish a clinic inside the downstairs area of the church. It will only require several walls to create a clinic area so the cost will be minimal.
Vine Church continues to grow in numbers and spiritually. Several months ago every Thursday was declared a day of Prayer and Fasting. This will go on indefinitely.
I want to thank you all so very much for your cards, gifts and your expressions of love to me personally at this Christmas Season. Please accept this as my personal thank you to each of you.
May God Bless You in this New Year more abundantly than you can ask or think.

Your Missionary,
Evelyn Dick
